Why choose the name Marketing Doris?

Yes, I know you were expecting Doris, but no, it's Helen. I'll explain the name in a minute, but first, here's the information you really need to know:

The reason I know why marketing is such a vital tool for boosting sales is because I've seen it work from both sides. I worked in sales for over 25 years, so know exactly what kind of support those teams need to make sure they hit – and ideally exceed – their targets. In other words, I've been there.

 And it's what I think gives me the edge as a freelance PR and Marketing Manager. I have a practical and commercial understanding of what sales teams need in order to blast past the competition, because I've done it myself. But that was only the start.  I completed the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Post Graduate Diploma in 2002 and regularly attend business and marketing courses.  Since 2007 I have been a freelance marketing consultant and in that time, I've worked in a vast range of  industries and sectors , from Accountancy to Retail.

Late 2022, I joined the CIM Yorkshire board as Vice Chair Events, and in early 2024 I accepted the role of Chair.
